Two posts in a day?

Trill.

We (just Matt) love to complain about product placement in the movies. But upon discovering this video gem from 1988, I realized that we don't have anything to complain about.

Mac and Me (1988)


Compare to this:

Spider-Man (2001)


Which one would you rather sit through? Even though there are a buttload of brands in Spider-Man, the entire montage is only two minutes. The Mac and Me debacle? Four minutes for just one brand. Looks like ad executives have learned over time to try to make smoother transitions between thrilling moviegoing adventure and how delicious Dr. Pepper is. Wouldn't you rather have the lubed quickie of Spider-Man than the dry thrusting of Mac and Me?

I thought so.

    what about castaway and fedex? that was basically a movie about fedex and how they suck/don't suck. the CEO even openly promoted castaway
